Hello all, been a while.
I picked up some 18x8.5 et30 wheels, I test fit a 245/40-18 and they fit nice especially because I’m not lowered (maybe someday but not a priority) but 255/35-18s are cheaper and look beefier.
I’m pretty sure I won’t have issues and worst case I’ll run more than the 0.3 ...

Re: Been working on some cool stuff lately...
You're making it sound like the incorrect clutch was installed. I'm pretty sure the clutch master was fine for about 2000 miles until you drag raced the car. We have no way of knowing how the car is driven after it leaves our shop, just that everything operates properly when it leaves... Which your ...

Re: Been working on some cool stuff lately...
I'm pretty sure we installed the clutch kit you had 034 send us and your car still had the writing on it from the drag strip when it came back with a failed clutch. We have pictures of the numbers on it.
I drove the car before it left and the issue you brought it to us for was gone. I'm sorry but ...

Re: Finally did a muffler delete on the 540i...
It's strange, since doing this mod I've encountered a few C6 corvettes on the street and I feel that having the same tip makes the pitch somewhat similar... I have no idea if that's even possible but I don't see why not.
I may be crazy though.

Suspension? - Bilstein HD's/SP with H & R sports springs
My boss just worked a deal with bilstein at Sema. We got a bunch of display material, it says right on it... HD for stock springs, Sport for lowering springs.
DE80... Iirc BGs are pretty low, you may be on or close to the internal bumpstops with HDs.

I'd run sports with lowering springs and HDs with stock springs... Pretty much what each are made for.

Thanks buddy.
I'm super happy with how it came out especially for not spending a dime and just a few hours milling about the shop. Welding practice is always good anyway.

Argh I need these but I'm strapped for cash until about the end of the year. Getting a divorce, moved, bills, higher priority car maintenance... I will def be getting these and engine mounts from you in the nearish future though. End of year bonus and no more Bimmer payment come February

Re: Engine builder needed in CT or New England Area
I can help. I work at Excelerate performance. Between myself and Jamie my coworker (owned sleepers performance, built some of the sickest VR6 street cars around) we can get the old girl all fixed up for you. Plus EPL is just about moved in next door and we have a nice working relationship with Tony ...

Used a C6 vetted tail pipe, trimmed tip and some 3" tubing, all laying around the shop. Can't beat free.
Original weighed 39.7 lbs... New is maybe 5?

Re: I almost lost my eye, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES!
Ever since I got a metal splinter in my eye I wear safety glasses for lots of things, then more recently I got a nice big splash of brakemen right in my eye while cleaning an automatic transmission pan flange with a brakleeen soaked scotchbrite, now I always wear them with chemicals.

I wouldn't spend the extra money on the wheel upgrade if you already have a stock one in your hands. People have windowed blocks on stock rods with the Volvo turbo, no need to push for more if not touching the rotating assembly

Re: The Epitome of BMW Goodness
I have yet to have to recode a module when replacing a battery on a VAG car. The cooling system on the N54 was asinine and a bitch to work on. The twin turbo V8s eat turbos, the 328d sounds like a tractor, a loud tractor. And their turbo 4 cylinder is def behind the latest similar VAG engines.

Re: The Epitome of BMW Goodness
I agree with the power on the street part. I spend probably 80% of my time between 1500 and 2500rpm which is 60-130hp, but is also 220-290ft/lbs, which is why I have a V8..

Re: The Epitome of BMW Goodness
The E46 made the E36 look good? In what ways? I don't think the E36 is very aesthetically pleasing and the E36 M was a massaged M52, not even an M engine (here in the U.S.). The E46 looks leaps and bounds better and got a real Motorsports engine.

Re: T44/URS Strut Mounts - Help Me Help You!
That is just the factory spec range, so in theory test that is what the adjustment should be, but at this point it should just be treated as a target if the factory adjustment can get you there.

Re: The Epitome of BMW Goodness
Awesome car! Motor Trend did a track day and review of the m1 last month IIRC. Gave that issue to my brother since hes the BMW fanatic of the family with his e46 m3
The E46 M3 is the perfect car to fall into love with BMW over.
Yup. IMO the E46/E38/E38 were the last of the Great BMWs. The E60 ...

Re: Justin's 200 20v Avant
Installed the new steering tie rods, front trap arm poly bushings and did a quick front end alignment. Didn't bother with the rear because I need camber links and probably toe bracket bushings, I'll do the inner trap arms because it would be dumb not to. I'll probably hold off on an apikol diff ...

Why not toss a $100 eBay turbo manifold and a junk yard T3 on it and just run like 6 psi?
You can even cheat with an easily removable throttle stop or a hidden boost controller lol

Ours are Forward lifts iirc.
Feel free to upload cool pics, especially a Gbody! I built a '79 monte (think training day) in my late teens. Almost 400hp, 3500ish stall, built TH350, locker 4.11:1.
I'd recommend your customer update the oil pump. The original aluminum ones are very failure prone ...
