Re: Marc's 1990 4.2L V8 Twin Turbo Coupe Quattro

What year 4.0t did you grab it from (does it matter all that much?) curious on the dimensions, that is going to be a wild package in a CQ!! Hope to see some build pics.

Re: GM ethanol sensor add vooltage gauge to show fuel temp?

Out of curiosity - why do you care about the fuel temp? E85 in the winter?

I would imagine ambient temperature would be close enough to know, unless you’re warming the fuel to run it over the winter?

Re: jbrentd's 2nd Chance CQ - She's Alive!

Cool, that G28 code should go away if the engine is running. For what it’s worth only once I replaced my actual ISV did the car ever idle correctly never threw a code would just chug around 800 rpm - well worth a new Bosch unit

Re: jbrentd's 2nd Chance CQ - She's Alive!

Sounds like you fixed the idle sensor issue

I had a similar issue with the g28 that cause a horrible idle and affect on driving - a few things

1. If you’re careful you can remove it off the flywheel housing - it may just have metal attached to the magnetic end - clean it and check it out. You ...

Re: URS6 Avant 5.2

Love that this is going to go 5.2, (2 inline 5s are better than 1) hooked up to a manual trans will be sweet. Bummer about the piston, but after seeing some of the clips - who is surprised :)

Re: Ben's 95 90 Quattro 20vT - now with corn power!

Fair enough haha! Should be pretty easy to turn by hand, might be worth looking at the clutch on it. A seized AC pulley is not what you want at high rpm :)

Re: Ben's 95 90 Quattro 20vT - now with corn power!

Can you check that the AC isn't overcharged?
AC belt over tightened?
Compressor spins freely by hand?

Might also be worth checking your negative grounds - Does it exhibit similar behavior when the rad fan kicks on?

It's almost winter just take the belt off ;)

Re: TCombs UrS4, Coolant leak, Voltage Regulator

Nice upgrade on the dash - the weak boost light could just be due to where you tapped into the 12v, try to find a stronger + wire to tap off or bench test with a good battery.

Wow, looks awesome. +1 on the jack stands haha, Makes it all more impressive.

Interesting lunch time read, I didn’t know all that about the coding. You make me want to order a new compressor bearing for my AC and get it working - way to go sorting it all out cleanly!
