Still waiting for an unreliable tuner guy. Just need this last thing done then I can move on to someone else. He says its ready to go, but I can't get him to send me the file to flash. So, who knows.

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - WTB: Forged Control Arms
This thing was a hoot to see at Carlisle. Amazing work!
Thanks again! - made it from/to buffalo about 6 hours each way without a single hiccup, which is most definitely a record for any of my fresh builds haha. Averaging 21mpg while putting the foot into it quite a few times, that's pretty ...

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - WTB: Forged Control Arms
I think when I swap the engine in the new cq I am just going to do away with the stock psp and put an electric one in instead. It means getting one shipped from the UK but the actual unit is cheap and I've seen people fit them under the back end of s2's to help distribute weight better.

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - WTB: Forged Control Arms
Got brakes, suspension etc on last week and took this thing for an alignment and got it inspected and on the road. Still sorting minor issues here and there, but we’re getting there. Couple suspension bumps and clunks I hunted down, bumper got zip tied on with about 100 zip ties cuz its all busted ...

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - WTB: Forged Control Arms
Regular bumper is better. I'm unsure about American bumpers but Uk s2 bumpers can be trimmed to get decent space. I had a s2 cabriolet for a while and there was enough space for a front mount intercooler, radiator and aircon radiator behind the bumper.

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - Heat exchanger, exhaust, mufflers
Anyone got a set of forged control arms? I’m looking for another set so I don’t have to replace bushings in my stamped ones. I’d rather upgrade the tears at the same time.

I already have a home-made one on the car, but its WAY vibratey above mid-2nd gear. That definitely won't work. haha.audifreakjim wrote:That's so frustrating, I'd cut them and weld a sleeve on just to get to the event

Thanks guys. I agree with regular bumper as well.
Got my driveshaft today, and after stating the lengths many times (38” rear to center bearing, 22.25” front portion) I got a driveshaft wth 25” front portion. Looks like I probably won't be able to make Carlisle now - was really amped on heading ...

Re: '90 CQ - 4.0t Swap - Custom axles
Well over the recent weeks I've gotten the heat exchanger and welded up mounts to the radiator and packaged that up nicely, it just BARELY fits with the grille/bumper on, had to do a lot of trimming. I'm hoping an RS2 bumper will leave a bit more room for this.

Look forward to seeing this driving around Buffalo.
If you need any help etc with info on removing trims and stuff i've had quite a few s2's/coupe's over the years.
What else you got planned once its running?

Great idea and the fabrication looks very good (I was tempted to say easy but stopped as it would take me quite a while!).
Thanks, I got a few of the welds a little hot, but that’s fine with me. My first time fabricating anything with this new welder, and I love having the capability to do ...

11” wide vs 11.75” wide at the flanges. Just measured.PRY4SNO wrote:^^^^ more info on this would be great!!!
How do they compare on length at stock mounting position? Does it affect which axles and propshaft(s) you can use?
And no, they’re not the same final drive, and I’m sure the b7 one is much stronger.

yes distributor adjustment should be able to take care of that, sounds like maybe firing order is off? I would be surprised if the distributor was that far out of whack.
