Re: 1989 80q part out
I would be interested in a box of bolts. I need all the bolts for the core support, bumper, bumper support, lower front cross member, and headlights.

Have you tried a mk3 reservoir? Should be relatively easy to make one of those work, and it's small so would save quite a bit of space vs the B5 one.

My neighbor is doing a full resto on an old AMX. He borrowed a setup from a friend of his who did exactly that. Looks to be done using 2 engine hoists and 2 engine stands. I helped him mount it up, took a little finessing without a lift but should be a breeze for you ...

I personally like the routing behind the pan, you'd be able to secure them to the subframe. Maybe a couple cable clamps to keep it from chaffing anywhere. It looks like it would be difficult to secure them infront of the pan without getting creative with pan bolts.

Nice pick-up! It can be tough going from commuting in a modern car to one 20 years older, but when they're fun to drive it makes it all worth it!

So what you are saying is you videos. I was going to do a roll racing event, but I bailed on it since my tires are toast.
I would like to see one of these videos.. for science of course.

Re: 90 CQ 07K Swap
Not much to update, garage is beyond packed at the moment. 3 engines, 2 transmissions and a 5" lift kit for my truck makes it tight to get around without moving everything. Lift kit goes on Saturday so that will free up some space.

That really depends on your power goals. I'm shooting for 450, and I'm only doing a TTRS head gasket and head studs.

Definitely if you have someone interested in the whole thing take it. its easier.
The brakes- definitely 10x easier to get all this sorted now before the engine is in.
For the booster swap, you can get a booster new for around 275.00 or fund a used 4K setup or similar (ebay or junkyard) I found ...

Re: 90 CQ 07K Swap
Haven't spent much time out in the garage in the past couple of weeks, but Saturday I was able to make a bit of progress. Got the engine and trans out of the car and learned a few things.
Found loose axle bolts, completely blown motor mount, and a loose control arm bolt. Luckily I had no intention ...

I'm very interested in seeing how the headlight rewiring turns out. The PO appears to have scotch locked unfused power to one of the circuits, then to what I think was a city light.

I agree, weld it and run it. Are you able to at least position the repair to the shroud down so it's less visible?

Re: Brake caliper piston tool kits... what do you recommend?
I have the amazon kit and I love it. I did have to shave down the pins on one of the adapters for my B5 S4 rear calipers but it worked great. I also like having a decent kit around in case I need to do brakes on someone else's vehicle.

Those coolant pipes came out looking great.
The exhaust shield looks good as well. Would you tack some nuts or something to the manifold so you can secure the far side and keep it from rattling?
